Martin Shkreli Suspended on Twitter for Harassing Reporter

Pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli was suspended from Twitter on Sunday for apparently harassing a female reporter. The reporter, Lauren Duca, told BuzzFeed News after learning that he had been suspended: “He’s an entitled creep and absolutely deserves to have his account suspended—perhaps indefinitely.” On Thursday, Shkreli messaged Duca on Twitter asking her to be his “plus-one” to the Trump inauguration. Duca took a screenshot of the message and said sarcastically: “I would rather eat my own organs.” On Sunday, Duca posted screenshots of Shkreli’s profile, which contained a photoshopped image of the pair. Additionally, Shkreli’s banner photo was a collage of pictures of Duca. She tagged Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in the tweet, which likely prompted the social-media platform to take action against Shkreli.
