This week's episode of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, which featured the NBC News anchor’s controversial interview with InfoWars founder Alex Jones, came in last place among the four major broadcast networks. With 3.5 million total viewers, Kelly’s program not only came in behind Fox’s U.S. Golf Open Championship coverage (6.1 million) but also reruns of CBS’ 60 Minutes (5.3 million) and ABC’s America's Funniest Home Videos (3.7 million). In the 18-49 demo, Kelly tied CBS with a 0.5 rating, but lost to ABC (0.7) and Fox (1.4). The episode also marked a drop in viewers from Kelly’s previous two episodes, which averaged 0.7 in the demo and 4.9 million total viewers. The network’s decision to give Jones, who has pushed the conspiracy theory that the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was a hoax, received intense criticism leading up to the broadcast. The NBC affiliate that reaches Newtown, Connecticut declined to air the episode.
