Special Counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly requested interviews with White House staffers aboard Air Force One when the initial misleading statement about Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer was written. According to CNN, Mueller is reportedly looking to determine who was involved in crafting the statement and whether information was intentionally excluded. Answers to such questions could highlight possible efforts to conceal information during an obstruction of justice investigation. The White House is reportedly trying to find funding for staff legal defense. Trump Jr. initially claimed that he âprimarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian childrenâ when he met with a Russian lawyer with Kremlin ties. That claim was later debunked by Trump Jr.âs own emails.
