NYC Subway Most Crowded Since WWII

Largest spike in Brooklyn.

The New York City subway system serviced 1.751 billion customers in 2014—the highest number of riders since a post-World War II boom 65 years ago. That ridership was also a 2.6 percent increase over the previous year, with many of the new commuters coming from rapidly developing neighborhoods. Many of the stations with the greatest increases were, unsurprisingly, in Brooklyn.
