House Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday told reporters that President Trump is “learning as he goes” about the intricacies of government and that the president is simply unfamiliar with protocols in place keeping the FBI independent from the White House. "The president is new at this," Ryan said. The Republican leader made the comments at a briefing while former FBI director James Comey testified in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee about his meetings with the president, and how he was asked to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michale Flynn.
