House Speaker Paul Ryan said Friday that President Trump should not terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, CNN reported. “I believe that this is something Congress has to fix,” he said, adding that President Obama did not have the legislative authority to start the program that protects eligible children who came to the United States without documentation from deportation. “You can’t as an executive write law out of thin air, and so that’s very, very clear and we’ve made that very clear,” Ryan said, noting that Congress is already working on legislation to make changes to the DACA program.
