Poll: 81% of Americans Say Trump Shouldn’t Stop Mueller Probe

A full 81 percent of Americans do not want President Trump to halt or otherwise interfere with special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election, according to a new CBS News poll. Most Americans surveyed—56 percent—also said they believe Mueller’s investigation will be impartial. That view, according to the poll, runs across partisan lines. Notably, Trump’s approval rating is at the lowest it has been measured by CBS News—at 36 percent. Fifty-seven percent say they now disapprove of the job he’s doing.
