Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort reportedly offered to brief a Russian billionaire and Kremlin ally about the 2016 presidential race. According to The Washington Post, Manafort made the offer to Oleg Deripaska through an intermediary. “If he needs private briefings we can accommodate,” Manafort wrote in a July 2016 email that was turned over to special counsel Robert Mueller. Manafort had previously done business with Deripaska. According to the Post, “there is no evidence in the documents showing that Deripaska received Manafort’s offer or that any briefings took place.”
