Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has filed a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times over an editorial tying her political action committeeâs ad to the 2011 shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. After the shooting earlier this month that targeted GOP members of Congress, the Times ran an editorial that suggested an ad by Palinâs super PAC was tied to the 2011 shooting, before appending a correction that said âno such link was establishedâ between the ad and the shooting. Palin, the 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee, is seeking damages in the suit.
