Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev tweeted on Wednesday that the “U.S. establishment fully outwitted Trump” after the president reluctantly signed a bill imposing new sanctions against Russia on Wednesday. The bill, which Trump called “seriously flawed,” prevents him from loosening sanctions without congressional approval. The measure was signed into law after it received overwhelming support in both the House and Senate. “The Trump administration has shown its total weakness by handing over executive power to Congress in the most humiliating way,” Medvedev tweeted from his English language account. In a Facebook post, Medvedev also called the new sanctions a “declaration of a full-fledged economic war on Russia.”
