Gene Simmons, co-lead singer of Kiss, is trying to own the signature devil’s horns hand gesture he uses in photos.

You know the one.

The rocker filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Friday, attempting to claim ownership, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

In his application, he describes the move as a “hand gesture with the index and small fingers extended upward and the thumb extended perpendicular.”

He claims he first used the horn-hands on Nov. 14, 1974, during the Kiss’ Hotter than Hell tour.

If Simmons receives his requested trademark, the branding on his goods and services will be protected.

Simmons says he believes “no other person, firm, corporation or association has the right to use said mark in commerce, either in the identical form or in such near resemblance.”

The symbol is also recognized as the American Sign Language sign for “I love you.”

The internet had some thoughts on Simmons’ move.

Best of luck, Gene.
