President Trump on Monday morning once again launched a series of attacks on Hillary Clinton and former President Obama over what he deemed a “crooked scheme” against his 2016 election campaign. Trump echoed the unverified claims that he was “spied on” before his Republican nomination—openly tweeting his support for a Fox & Friends segment that said the same thing—and raised questions about whether the brother of former Clinton campaign chief John Podesta was “paid big money to get the sanctions on Russia lifted.” The president tweeted: “Did Hillary know?” Additionally, Trump topped his morning rant off with a third tweet, all before 8 a.m. ET, writing, “Did Hillary Clinton ever apologize for receiving the answers to the debate? Just asking!” Fox & Friends segments seemingly matched the theme of Trump’s tweetstorm as they happened. “It’s ironic that all of the real evidence of real money and real influence buying by the Russians relates to Democrats,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said in one segment, at about 7:15 a.m. ET. In another highly Trump-friendly segment, the morning show lamented the “mainstream media” is allegedly not covering what it believes is a “scandal” in its own report that Obama officials allegedly ordered the unmasking of incoming Trump officials.
Such amazing reporting on unmasking and the crooked scheme against us by @foxandfriends. "Spied on before nomination." The real story.
