President Trump fired back at Mitch McConnell on Wednesday for the Senate majority leader’s suggestion that the president had “excessive expectations” about what Congress could achieve during his first six months in office. “Senator Mitch McConnell said I had ‘excessive expectations,’ but I don't think so. After 7 years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?” Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to congressional Republicans’ failed attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare. Speaking at an event in Kentucky, McConnell said Congress gets low marks because “the president and others have set these early timelines about things need to be done by a certain point.” He added: “I think [Trump] had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process.”
