The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops condemned the Senate’s health care bill in a statement on Monday. “This moment cannot pass without comment,” the organization wrote after the Congressional Budget Office released a report indicating that 22 million people would lose their health insurance under the bill. “As the USCCB has consistently said, the loss of affordable access for millions of people is simply unacceptable. These are real families who need and deserve health care.”
