BONUS: FAMILY GUY'S RED CARPET F-BOMB

What the deuce? From the 2009 Emmy Awards, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane got the Emmys off to a classy start by dropping the f-bomb live on TV within a minute of E!'s Giuliana Rancic throwing a mic in his face.

BUSEY'S LETHAL WEAPON

Even weathering Paula Abdul’s special brand of crazy couldn’t prepare Ryan Seacrest for Gary Busey’s heckling at the 2008 Academy Awards arrivals. In an effort to redirect the attention onto his interview subjects, Laura Linney and Jennifer Garner, both of whom had films nominated that night, the American Idol host introduced Busey to the actresses. After giving Linney a relatively harmless peck on the cheek, Busey went wild, grabbing Garner and kissing her neck. The obviously shocked Juno star sarcastically told Seacrest, “That was nice.”

UN-INTERNATIONAL IDOL

In another classically uncomfortable moment on E!, Ryan Seacrest neglected to brush up on his South Asian pronunciations for the 2009 Oscars, despite the enormous success of the year’s Best Picture nominee, Slumdog Millionaire. When interviewing the movie’s six young stars, Seacrest simply held up a slip of paper with the children’s names, which he was clearly unable to say. He then asked them to shout out their names, which “didn’t go well” he admitted, and handed the microphone to the one actor who didn’t speak English. Good thing they’re adorable enough to distract from Seacrest’s epic fail of an interview.

D-LISTED VIA DAKOTA

In 2005, Kathy Griffin took on the hosting duties for E! for the last time, covering fashion for the Golden Globes Awards arrivals. During some dead air time, co-host Star Jones threw the mic to Griffin, who joked that “Little Dakota Fanning entered rehab today, and we wish her the best.” Awkward silence inevitably ensued. E! later apologized profusely to the then 10-year-old A-list actress and gave Griffin the axe.

HE’S GOT THE “WHITE STUFF”

Things didn’t exactly start off on the right foot for ‘N Syncer-turned-host Joey Fatone while chatting with Milk star James Franco at the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Fatone first uncomfortably referred to the film’s title as “that white stuff” and then remarked, “Oh, that’s something else, never mind.” He then asked Franco what it was like playing “a homosexual” and if men hit on him more often since starring in the movie. Guess that answers any questions about Fatone’s friendship with former boybandmate Lance Bass.

THOSE LIPS SHOULD TALK

Lisa Rinna, Fatone’s former fellow Dancing With the Stars contestant, also had an awkward moment at the 2009 SAG Awards when she told Kate Winslet that she’s “grown into the most beautiful woman; not the most beautiful actress.” As Winslet tried to keep her mouth upturned, Rinna frantically back-pedaled, deeming her the most beautiful woman at ceremony. Maybe Rinna can blame the slip-up on her overly collagened mouth…

GIVE IT A BREAST

The red carpet and Joan Rivers tend to go hand-in-hand… as do the outrageous moments she brings to celebrity arrivals. The 2006 Oscars were no exception when Rivers gave Rinna a pre-emptive taste of her own medicine, using the score cards she’d been given to determine whether an actresses’ chassis is au natural or man-made. The instant the soap star’s back was turned, Rivers flipped up the card deeming Rinna’s chest a medical, not natural, miracle.

BELOW THE BELT

At the 2006 Golden Globes, designer Isaac Mizrahi not-so-delicately asked Eva Longoria about her hair…down there. The Desperate Housewives star, visibly appalled by his question, could barely smirk through her response about her pubic region: “It’s normal.” Unlike, say, asking that question on national television.

GRAB THOSE GLOBES

While Longoria was recovering from her intimate interview with Mizrahi, the red-carpet host took things up a notch when Scarlett Johansson stepped up to the microphone at the 2006 Golden Globes. After asking about her undergarments, which she said were built-in, the designer grabbed the famously voluptuous star’s left breast, claiming he was “taking notes” for his next push-up dress. Mizrahi then maturely taunted, “I touched Scarlett’s boobs” thrice.

MESS UP AND MAKE UP

Before Kanye West became the reigning king of VMA jackassery, compact-throwing Courtney Love did a wonderful job of upstaging others at the MTV awards show. In 1995, during Madonna’s sitdown interview atop the red carpet with the channel’s eminent VJ Kurt Loder, Love interrupted by tossing the contents of her purse at the pop star until Loder invited her to join them. Madonna was not amused.

REVEALING TRUTH

Back in the day, before Tara Reid ruined her career entirely, the party girl first and actress second “accidentally” let the strap of her dress fall off her shoulder in 2004, revealing her breast (and implant scar) to a tent full of paparazzi at P. Diddy’s 35th birthday party at Cipriani in New York. Oblivious to what had happened, Reid continued to smile for the cameras until Reid’s assistant fixed the not just nip, but entire boob slip. And you thought your job was bad.
