Mexican officials have discovered 16 burned corpses in Sinaloa, the home state of infamous drug lord Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman, for which his powerful cartel is named. Officials discovered 11 bodies of both men and women in the back of a truck in the state's capital. Elsewhere in the city, four more corpses were found stuffed in the back of a burning pickup truck, which appeared to have been soaked with gasoline. While there have been few reports of mass killings connected to Guzman's cartel in recent months, one of the drug lord's top lieutenants was captured in Sinaloa two weeks ago.
