20 Best Cities to Get Laid in America: See the List

Dateless on Valentine’s Day? Not a problem—if you happen to live in one of these cities, which we’ve determined to be statistically favorable towards the unattached.

To compile the list, we used the U.S. Census to track down the percentage of the entire adult population that’s single in nearly 400 metro areas across the U.S. We also wanted to look at the ratio of single adult males to females—but the cities that topped our list all have a 1:1 ratio, so we got a little more specific, comparing the percentages of males and females that are single.

(There is not yet Census data on singles interested in same-sex dating, though it does track same-sex couples.)

We also wanted to find the cities where single residents have the most cash to spend on dating, so we considered the average annual income and cost-of-living Index for each metro area. Lastly, we referred to Google Trends for data on searches for “online dating” and “OkCupid” and added bonus weighting to the cities that appeared among the top 45 for those searches.
