Two-dozen passengers aboard a JetBlue flight from Boston to Sacramento were hospitalized and treated for minor injuries overnight after an emergency landing in South Dakota. Halfway through the cross-country journey, Flight 429 hit severe turbulence with enough force to reportedly send unsecured items flying throughout the airplane’s interior. “The cabin was pretty messy from everything flying around and a ceiling panel was knocked out of place from someone having been thrown into it," one passenger recalled to KELO-TV. After several hours of treatment for the injured passengers, a replacement flight took all to their final destination, ultimately landing in Sacramento at 4:35 a.m. local time.
