A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook Americans from South Carolina to Georgia late Friday night. The quake originated near Edgefield, South Carolina, and was felt as far south as Atlanta and as far north as Hickory, North Carolina, both about 150 miles away. "It's a large quake for that area," said Dale Grant, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey. Nearby dams appeared to be undamaged, but will be given thorough inspection.
