Five people have been charged in connection with the death of former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, who fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Argentina just over two months ago. The five charged include the hotel’s receptionist Esteban Grassi—who called 911 before his death—the hotel’s manager, Gilda Martin, and Payne’s manager Rogelio “Roger” Nores. Each has been charged with manslaughter and could face up to five years in prison. Two others, a hotel employee and a local waiter, Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, have been charged with supplying Payne with drugs prior to his death. Payne was reportedly intoxicated with several substances when he fell from the balcony of his Argentina hotel room in October. Witnesses said Payne had been acting “erratically” before the fall. According to site, hotel workers locked him inside his hotel room to subdue him, after which Payne had the fatal fall from the room’s balcony. He was 31 years old.
