A dozen former Bush and Reagan administration lawyers came out in a letter to Fox News on Friday with an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris. “We endorse Kamala Harris and support her election as President because we believe that returning former President Trump to office would threaten American democracy and undermine the rule of law in our country,” the group, wrote in the letter. “We urge all patriotic Republicans, former Republicans, conservative and center-right citizens, and independent voters to place love of country above party and ideology and join us in supporting Kamala Harris,” they added. Among the dozen was Deputy Counsel to George W. Bush, John Mitnick, who also served in the Trump administration but resigned over Stephen Miller’s DHS policy. “Indeed, Trump’s own Attorney General and National Security Adviser have said unequivocally that Donald Trump is unfit for office, dangerous, and detached from reality,” the letter continued, adding there are “profound risks presented by his [Trump’s] potential return to public office.” On Thursday night, former GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who was voted out for his role in the January 6 commission, spoke at the DNC, also endorsing Harris. “Donald Trump has suffocated the soul of the Republican Party,” Kinzinger said during his remarks.
