New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge on Monday broke the single-season MLB record for most home runs by a rookie. In the third inning against the Kansas City Royals, Judge slugged his 49th home run—tying Mark McGwire’s 1987 record until Judge bashed out his 50th homer just three innings later. The third-place record holder is also from this season: Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger has thus far hit 37 homers in his rookie year.
