Jayme Closs’ accused kidnapper Jake Patterson appeared in court Wednesday, where he waived his right to a preliminary examination. He did not enter a plea and will be arraigned on March 27. Patterson, 21, faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of kidnapping, and one count of armed burglary. He told police that he planned to kidnap Closs, 13, though he had never had any contact with her before on social media or elsewhere. He allegedly held Jayme captive for nearly three months in his family’s cabin. Patterson told cops that when he saw Jayme, “he knew that was the girl he was going to take.” He remains held on $5 million bail.
