The Active Shooter video game dubbed a “school-shooting simulator” by survivors of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High has been pulled by its distribution company just days before its release. Digital distribution company Valve on Tuesday announced it had removed both the game and its developer from its digital storefront, Steam. “This developer and publisher is, in fact, a person calling himself Ata Berdiyev, who had previously been removed last fall when he was operating as ‘Interactive’ and ‘Elusive Team.’ Ata is a troll, with a history of customer abuse, publishing copyrighted material, and user review manipulation,” the company said in a statement. The game features a first-person shooter, and players can choose to be either a gunman or the member of an elite SWAT team. Active Shooter, which had been slated for a June 6 release, reportedly includes scenes inside school hallways, gyms, and classrooms.
