Actor Burt Reynolds—a 1970s sex symbol who starred in films like Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit—has died at 82, according to The Hollywood Reporter and CNN. According to his manager Erik Kritzer, Reynolds, who also worked as a producer and director during a Hollywood career that spanned more than five decades, died Thursday morning at Jupiter Medical in Florida after suffering cardiac arrest. Reynolds received an Oscar nomination for his performance in 1997’s Boogie Nights—just one film in his large repertoire of action flicks and romantic comedies. He is survived by his son Quinton. “I always wanted to experience everything and go down swinging,” he wrote in his memoir. “Well, so far, so good. I know I'm old, but I feel young. And there's one thing they can never take away: Nobody had more fun than I did.”
