Adidas has officially ended its partnership with Kanye West after the German sportswear brand sustained intense criticism for standing by the rapper in the wake of a string of antisemitic outbursts. The termination means that Adidas will no longer produce Yeezy branded products or send payments to West. “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.” In terminating the deal, Adidas follows the likes of fashion labels Gap, Balenciaga, and talent agency CAA in cutting ties with West over his remarks, which have included promises to go “death con 3 on Jewish people.” During an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast earlier in October, Ye also criticized the “Jewish media,” and said that Adidas “can’t drop me” despite saying “antisemitic things.”
