During a press conference Wednesday, Ahmed Mohamed explained the origins of his clock. "I built a clock to impress my teacher but when I showed it to her she thought it was a threat to her," the teen explained. He later said he wants to go to MIT and is also considering transferring from his current school, from which he is still suspended until Thursday. After seeing that President Obama, Mark Zuckerberg and Hillary Clinton showed their support, Mohamed said "I'm pleased that they are part of the movement." He plans on accepting the invitation to the White House.
