The Saudi leader of an al-Qaeda-linked, Sunni militant group that claimed responsibility for the bombing at the Iranian Embassy in Beirut in November has been detained. Majid bin Muhammad al-Majid is the head of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, and was arrested just three days after Saudi Arabia pledged $3 billion in aid to the military counter the influence of Shiite Hezbollah.
