Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit back against conservative commentator Ben Shapiro late Thursday after he challenged her to a debate and then criticized her initial decision not to respond. In response to the former Breitbart editor’s numerous tweets about the debate challenge, the self-described Democratic socialist accused him of sexist behavior. “Just like catcalling, I don’t owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions. And also like catcalling, they for some reason feel entitled to one,” she wrote on Twitter. Shapiro, who’d said during a segment of The Ben Shapiro Show on Wednesday that he was “eager to discuss the issues” with Ocasio-Cortez in a debate, had made a fuss on social media after she didn’t immediately respond to his offer.
