Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told TMZ Tuesday night that President Donald Trump inadvertently “trolled himself” during his first State of the Union address since Democrats retook the House. When the president declared that America has “more women serving in Congress than at any time before,” Ocasio-Cortez said she and her fellow women in the Democratic caucus couldn’t help but “laugh” because “almost all the women are on the Democratic side so I don’t think he realized the irony of what he was saying.” The president also did not expect the reaction he received from the Democratic side of the aisle when he boasted, “No one has benefited more from our thriving economy than women, who have filled 58 percent of the newly created jobs last year.” After the female Democrats cheered that line, Trump ad-libbed, “You weren’t supposed to do that.”
