Alexis Had Clearance Pulled

WARNING SIGN

Six weeks before Navy Yard shooting.

Security clearance had been briefly pulled for Aaron Alexis, the man who shot and killed 12 people at the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard in September, sources said on Monday. A computer contractor, Alexis was no longer allowed to access classified materials when his mental problems became evident in August after an incident with police. The company Alexis worked for, Fort Lauderdale-based The Experts, restored his clearance after just two days. Less than six weeks after that, Alexis was killed after he opened fire at the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard.
