All of the 25 people aboard the Marine Corps helicopter that crashed Monday have been safely rescued. The CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter was carrying 17 Marines and eight Navy sailors when it attempted to land on the USS Messa Verde. Instead, it crashed into the Gulf of Aden. The troops were being returned to the ship after completing training in nearby Djibouti. “Three individuals are reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash,” the Navy stated in a press release, adding that the crash was not a result of “hostile activity.”
