Some of Bernie Sanders’ fellow University of Chicago alumni are questioning the authenticity of a civil rights-era photograph the senator’s presidential campaign has repeatedly used. Four classmates join the university’s archivist in suggesting the photographed speaker—whose back is turned from the camera—is not Sanders. While the archivist has yet to identify the man, the alumni told Time magazine that he is Bruce Rappaport, a fellow bespectacled student activist who passed away in 2006.
