Stainless steel cookware can often do things that nonstick cookware can’t — and Amazon’s sale today on an 8-piece Cuisinart stainless steel cookware set gets you in the game for $100.
So what’s the difference between stainless steel and nonstick cookware? Generally speaking (different brands offer different specific features so there are no absolutes here) stainless steel pots and pans can withstand higher heat and are virtually always oven-safe. That’s good for searing food and otherwise cooking it at high heat — of course, since stuff sticks to them, it also means cleaning up could require some elbow grease.
So this stainless steel set is ideal for cooking fish and meat and stews requiring different temperatures throughout. In other words, if you’re actually making meals, this is a great set for you. And at this price, it’s a solid investment.

The Cuisinart set usually sells for $155, so you’re saving 35% here, and you’re getting:
- A 2.5-quart saucepan with a cover
- A 4-quart saucepan with a cover
- A 6-quart stock pot with a cover
- An 8-inch skillet
- A 10-inch skillet
Nonstick might be easier to use but it’s also designed for low to medium heat. Since it’s treated with chemicals to create that nonstick surface, it’s not really meant to sear food, cook it at high temperatures, or enter the oven. It can’t hurt to have a nonstick pan or two, though.
If your cookware is ready for an upgrade, this is a good way to get there — especially with solid savings today.
