Text messages from 2014 between Amber Heard and a man purported to be Johnny Depp's assistant appear to detail alleged abuse at the hands of the star actor. In the conversations, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, the assistant, Stephen Deuters, allegedly expresses contrition on behalf of Depp: "He's incredibly apologetic and knows that he has done wrong. He wants to be better now. He's been very explicit about that this morning. Feel like we're at a critical juncture." The recipient, allegedly Amber Heard, responded: "I don't know how to be around him after what he did to me today. I don't know if I can stay with him." The texter tells Heard that Depp allegedly had no recollection of the prior evening's altercation. "When I told him he kicked you, he cried," the assistant purportedly wrote. "It was disgusting. And he knows it." Heard responded that this was not the first time he's become violent with her, recalling incidents in "Tokyo, the island, London." All of the messages, according to ET's sources, come from May 2014—before the pair were married. Heard filed for divorce last week after just 15 months of marriage.
