Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are not fans of Taylor Swift.
After Swift presented West with the lifetime achievement award at last year’s VMAs—you know, the one where Yeezy announced he was running for president in 2020—the iconic rapper dropped his upcoming album The Life of Pablo, which contained a song referencing Swift called “Famous.” On it, West raps, “For all my Southside niggas that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” He is, of course, referring to his infamous I’mma let you finish, but… stage-crashing incident at the VMAs.
In the aftermath, Swift took a shot at West during her Grammys’ Album of the Year acceptance speech, claiming he tried to “undercut” and “take credit” for her success. West, for his part, claimed he’d cleared the line(s) on “Famous” with Swift beforehand, leading to a leaked backstage SNL rant where he labeled her a “fake-ass.” And just this week, in a brilliant GQ profile of Kim Kardashian, she backed her husband up, claiming that they have in their possession video footage of West’s phone call with Swift clearing the track—which allegedly prompted a cease-and-desist letter from the famously litigious Swift’s attorney.

Well, one outspoken celebrity who is firmly in Swift’s corner—and who’s also found herself at odds with Kimye over the years—is Amber Rose.
Rose will host the upcoming late-night talk show The Amber Rose Show, which premieres July 8 on VH1. On it, she’ll interview celebs, give hot takes on celebrity gossip from an insider’s perspective, and more. So, while seated across from her in downtown Manhattan for an upcoming profile, I asked Rose about the recent Nicholas Sparks-ish photographs depicting Swift and Tom Hiddleston canoodling on some rocks by the water (Swift recently split from the Scottish DJ Calvin Harris).
“I did see that and I think she’s fucking awesome,” Rose said of Swift. “I mean, I don’t know if it’s staged—but that’s how it is! I was on a private beach in Maui—you literally had to drive three hours from the airport to get to this beach—and paparazzi still caught me. I saw it on TMZ the next day and I couldn’t even believe it. I thought that was a safe place, and it was not. I can’t go anywhere in the world. It’s ridiculous.”
The author of How to Be a Bad Bitch also feels there’s a silly double standard employed when it comes to Swift. If she were, say, an uber-famous male musician, there wouldn’t be so much judgment when it comes to her rebound flings—or, for that matter, her famous lovers period. “I love Taylor, for sure. Absolutely. And I feel like guys do that all the time—they break up and the next day they’re with another girl and nobody really says anything. But with Taylor it’s, you know what, I’m done with Calvin [Harris] and it didn’t work out, so on to the next,” said Rose. “It is because it’s unheard of, and she’s acting very ‘slutty’ and for some reason needs time to ‘let her pussy rest,’” added Rose of Swift. “That’s how people look at it, and it’s just like, hell no! If I’m done, why do I have to sit in the house and be lonely?”
