American tennis star Frances Tiafoe left it all on the court in a grueling five-set win over France’s Arthur Rinderknech Monday in the first round of the Australian Open. At one point in the fourth set Tiafoe vomited on the court, and was checked out by a doctor before returning to play. A 17th seed in the tournament, Tiafoe jumped to an early two-set lead before faltering in the third. After the medical break in the fourth set, Tiafoe lost a grueling tiebreak but maintained enough composure to gut out a 6-3 win in the fifth set to win the match. The 26-year-old became a fan favorite after a semifinal run in last year’s U.S. Open—and even did shots with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift at a party during his offseason, according to People. The party in question likely took place after Tiafoe watched the Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos on Nov. 10 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, People surmised.
