A pair of American tourists who attempted to flee a horse-drawn carriage ride without paying in Dublin found themselves on the receiving end of some instant karma when they were chased down and whipped by the driver.

Footage captured on Tuesday shows the unnamed tourists, who had visited Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day, cowering in an alley after ducking the fare while the disgruntled driver brandished his whip and threatened them.

“Pay now, pay into my f---ing bank account,” the driver shouts while cracking his whip at the terrified duo.

“I have money,” one of the tourists replies meekly, while appearing to hand over a wad of cash to the furious driver. “It’s 100 U.S., it’s extra,” he adds, while the driver continues to berate the pair as a couple of “f---ing b-------s.”

After handing over the cash, the tourists apologize to the angry man, telling him, “I’m sorry, we’ve learned our lesson, thank you!” before running off in shame.

A clip of the encounter was shared widely on X with the caption: “Dublin... Two American tourists over for St Patrick’s Day attempted to do a runner on a horse carriage driver. They won’t be doing that again in a hurry.”

“Definition of FAFO,” wrote X user Terry K, who posted the original footage. “If they had the funds to holiday in Ireland on Patrick’s weekend, why are they skiving off paying a carriage driver?”

“Scumbags.”
