America’s Most Wanted, the crime show that has been credited with finding more than 12,000 criminals over 25 seasons, has been canceled by Lifetime, which picked up the show after Fox shut it down in 2011. The cable network is reportedly looking to cut a deal with John Walsh to develop a new pilot, tentatively titled John Walsh Investigates. AMW ran 44 episodes on Lifetime after running for 24 seasons on Fox. The show has been credited with finding more than 12,000 criminals in its 25-year run. It was started in 1988 with Walsh as a host, who had become a dedicated anti-crime activist after his 6-year-old son, Adam, went missing in 1981.
