Good Morning America host Amy Robach apologized for using the outdated term “colored people” on Monday’s edition of the morning show. During a segment about actress Zendaya’s possible starring role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming film, Robach said, “We all know Hollywood has received recent and quite a bit of criticism for casting white actors in what one might assume should be a role reserved for colored people.” Following immediate backlash for using the archaic term, Robach apologized and clarified that she meant to use the modern term “people of color,” adding that the “mistake” was “not at all a reflection of how I feel or speak in my everyday life.”
