Standup comedian and actress Amy Schumer clarified that, despite previous comments, her popular TV series, Inside Amy Schumer, had not been canceled. “Comedy Central has provided us with a wonderful home and we couldn’t he happier here,” she wrote on Twitter on Thursday. “I am just touring.” She added: “Doing standup and focusing on writing more for the next year at least. We are slated for a Season 5 but not in the foreseeable future.” The initial misunderstanding arose after her ex-writer Kurt Metzger received widespread criticism for his response to rape accusations against a fellow comedian. “I didn’t fire Kurt. He isn’t a writer for my show because we aren’t making the show anymore. There are no writers for it,” she initially wrote this week, setting off alarms that Inside was officially over.
