Amy Schumer recalled feeling so nauseous and lethargic after trying Ozempic three years ago that she became basically “bedridden.” In an interview with Howard Stern Wednesday, Schumer explained that she has a specific gene, GDF 15, which makes her particularly prone to nausea. “So I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was like bedridden,” Schumer shared. “I was vomiting. And then you have no energy.” Although Ozempic is a diabetic medication, it has popularly been used as a weight-loss drug in recent years. While Schumer noted that she “lost 30 pounds so quick” and “looked great” after taking Ozempic, she added, “I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow, so what’s the point?” “I tried it and I was vomiting and I’m in bed and my son’s like, ‘Can you play tag?’ I’m like, ‘I can’t.’ I was shriveling,” the comedian continued. Schumer has famously been open about weight-loss procedures she’s undergone, admitting to getting liposuction in 2022. In a 2023 interview with Andy Cohen, the Trainwreck star slammed celebrities for purposefully concealing how they’ve lost weight. “Everybody’s lying. Everybody’s like, ‘Smaller portions.’ Like shut the f *** up,” Schumer said at the time. “You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop.”
