During her stand-up show in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday night, Amy Schumer called Donald Trump an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” While the majority of the audience seemed to appreciate that sentiment, approximately 200 people got up and walked out of the theater, according to a report from the Tampa Bay Times. Schumer, an active Hillary Clinton supporter, brought a Trump voter up on stage at one point and asked him, “Do you get worried at all with how impulsive he is, that he gets so fired up from Saturday Night Live doing a skit on him? Do you get worried he’ll be impulsive and get us in a lot of fucking trouble we can’t get out of?” As some in the crowd began to boo, she added, “Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo. I know you’re here to laugh, but you choose how you’re going to live your life, and it’s just too important.”
“I loved the crowd and my show in Tampa last night!” Schumer told Entertainment Weekly in a statement on Monday. “I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We had a great time! We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.”
