ABC anchor David Muir was mocked on social media for using wooden clothespins to style his flame-retardant jacket while reporting from the scene of the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires. During a standup shot across the street from charred rubble in the Palisades area on Wednesday, Muir turned around to point to the damage behind him, revealing two clothespins holding his yellow jacket tighter around his torso. “Nice Jacket Bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothes line pegs, while our city burns to the ground,” Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack wrote on the social media platform X. The user also tagged Elon Musk in the post, apparently hoping the world’s richest man would repost it for his 211 million followers. The clothespins are a standard TV trick for quickly styling reporters on the run. Some X users also speculated the clips were holding the wire for Muir’s lapel microphone in place, while others thought it was funny, distasteful or both that he had taken the time to cinch the jacket in the middle of a wildfire report.

There have been so many wealthy donors to Donald Trump’s inaugural committee that the president-elect has run out of perks to offer them, The New York Times reported Wednesday. The committee’s haul of $170 million is a record, the publication notes, and includes money from those who have since been placed on wait lists or warned V.I.P. access to Trump was unlikely. Trump meticulously pays attention to who financially supports him and who doesn’t—and many of the wealthy donors are keen to avoid any possible retribution once he takes office. In recent weeks, for instance, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has made a number of moves favorable to Trump, among them Meta’s donation of $1 million to the inaugural fund. Other donors include Amazon, Uber, Bank of America, Ford, General Motors, Open AI CEO Sam Altman, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. Funds are on pace to reach $200 million, according to one person briefed on fundraising who spoke to the Times.

Prince William marked his wife Kate Middleton’s 43rd birthday Thursday with a social media post praising her “remarkable strength” over the past year. Kate was diagnosed with cancer in February after being admitted to hospital for abdominal surgery in January 2024. Kate’s health became a subject of global fascination after she disappeared from public view for several weeks before announcing in March that cancer had been found in the course of the operation and that she was having preventative treatment. In September, she announced that she was “cancer-free.” William’s message read: “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.” The royal social media account was bombarded with well-wishes in response. Kensington Palace said the picture of the Princess of Wales was taken by Matt Porteous, in Windsor, last summer.

Ashton Kutcher took matters into his own hands and tried to protect his friend’s home from the massive wildfires blazing through the Los Angeles area. Paparazzi footage captured Kutcher holding a garden hose and watering plants and trees near a Pacific Palisades house that TMZ reported is owned by his friend. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, watering plants is a beneficial method to curtail fires—as well-watered plants tend to be less flammable. Kutcher is one of many celebrities bracing against the wildfires that have caused a trail of devastation in their wake and left at least five people dead, per the Los Angeles Times. A-listers like Jamie Lee Curtis have shared that they’ve been forced to evacuate their homes, while other celebrities, such as Anna Faris, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, Adam Brody, and Leighton Meester have had their multimillion dollar homes burn down in the blaze.

Lisa Kudrow disclosed that she recently found a letter from her Friends co-star, the late Matthew Perry, hidden in a prop he gifted to her from the show. While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show on Jan. 7, Kudrow reminisced on whether or not she ever stole something from the Friends set and disclosed that while there was a prop she did take, Perry also gifted her the iconic cookie time jar from the show. “Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode,” Kudrow told host Drew Barrymore. “I had recently found the note that he had in it for me,” she continued. “I hadn’t opened it up or looked inside of it, but yeah, he did. He had a note in there and I forgot about it.” Although the actress didn’t share what the note said, she previously told Jimmy Kimmel in a 2020 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that the cookie time jar was an inside joke between her and Perry.

‘THANKS JOE!’: Trump Blames Biden for L.A. Wildfires in All-Caps Tirade
NOT FAIR!

Donald Trump went after Joe Biden in an all-caps screed about the wildfires raging around Los Angeles. “NO WATER IN THE FIRE HYDRANTS, NO MONEY IN FEMA. THIS IS WHAT JOE BIDEN IS LEAVING ME. THANKS JOE!” Trump wrote in a Wednesday afternoon Truth Social post. The post referenced the fact that some fire hydrants in California have run dry during the wildfires, due to “tremendous demand,” officials told The Los Angeles Times. The president-elect has spent much of the day firing off posts blaming Democrats for the inferno that has killed at least two people, forced over 80,000 to evacuate, and destroyed more than 1,000 structures, according to NBC News. Earlier, he reignited a feud with California’s governor, Gavin Newsom (or “Newscum,” as Trump prefers). While campaigning in September, Trump had threatened to withhold wildfire aid from California unless Newsom channeled more water to farmers, the New York Times reported. “I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA!” Trump added. “He is the blame for this.”

Andy Cohen has admitted that he has a sex tape with his ex-boyfriend, former Broadway actor and producer John Hill. Cohen made the admission on Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live as Hill listed off the “top five things” Cohen should do in 2025. Among the things on Hill’s list included seeing Cohen “get tits,” “learn how to read,” and release their tape “from 2003.” Cohen laughed at the thought while his guests, model Racquel Chevremont and housewife Erika Jayne, remained shocked. Yet thankfully, according to Cohen, it’s not easily accessible. “The format, it’s on some janky format,” he said, when asked where it can be seen. According to Hill, “It’s bad.” Cohen, 56, and Hill, 46, dated for nearly three years before they went their separate ways. According to Hill, he headed to Hollywood looking for a career change, and Cohen stayed behind, moving up the ranks at Bravo. “It was heartbreaking and super sad,” said Cohen about the split on the “Hot Takes and Deep Dives” podcast. “But like any breakup … it was time to break up.”

Oscar nomination voting has been pushed back two days due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, multiple Hollywood trade publications reported, as the Academy Awards become the latest award show to adjust during the ongoing disaster. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that voting on nominees would extend until Jan. 14, two days after the original deadline on Jan. 16. The nominations will also be announced two days later than scheduled, on Jan. 19. The ceremony itself will not take place until March 2. “We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer wrote in an email to members published by Deadline. “So many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are thinking of you.” The Oscars are not the only Hollywood awards show impacted by the crisis. The Critics Choice Awards ceremony was supposed to take place on Sunday in Santa Monica, but has now been postponed until Jan. 26. The SAG Award nominations announcement originally scheduled for Wednesday morning was canceled, but nominees were still posted online.

This Cult-Favorite Australian Skincare Brand Just Dropped an Anti-Cellulite Lotion

While cellulite is a normal skin condition that between 80 to 90 percent of post-pubescent women experience to some extent, if it bothers you, there are both in-office and at-home ways to lessen the appearance of dimples. Plenty of over-the-counter anti-cellulite creams and treatments are on the market (often infused with circulation and water-expelling caffeine as their hero ingredients), but not all formulas are created equal.

When applied topically, caffeine may help reduce cellulite because it stimulates enzymes that break down fat, resulting in a smoother appearance and may help draw out excessive fluids, which can cause puffiness and make dimpling look more pronounced. Right now, one of our favorite anti-cellulite lotions is BodyBlendz’s newly launched Anti-Cellulite and Stretch Mark lotion ($53).

BodyBlendz Anti-Cellulite Cream
BodyBlendz.

The hydration-boosting formula is super-charged with laxity-supporting and anti-inflammatory ingredients, including caffeine-rich green seed coffee extract to boost blood flow and reduce dimpling, skin-firming artichoke extract, and vitamin B and C-rich pineapple extract to lock in moisture and nourish the skin. Best of all? While cellulite is more common on the body than the face, this gentle body lotion is also formulated as a lifting and de-puffing facial lotion. Along with the green coffee-derived caffeine to boost blood flow and reduce fluid retention, it also contains niacinamide, a B vitamin that helps soften skin and combat dullness, and shea butter to plump up fine lines for a more youthful appearance.

If you’re looking for a multifunctional face and body product ($28) that targets cellulite but is gentle enough to double as face cream, BodyBlendz’s new formula will not disappoint. Need more convincing? Head to BodyBlendz’s website to check out the lotion’s seriously impressive before-and-after pictures. Wow.

Panama Canal CEO Says No Way to Trump’s Demands
THANKS BUT NO THANKS
Published 01.08.25 5:47PM EST

The CEO of the Panama Canal Authority rejected the demands of President-elect Donald Trump, who escalated a conflict over the vital trade passage at a Mar-a-Lago press conference on Tuesday. Trump has repeatedly claimed that Panama charges American vessels “exorbitant prices” to travel through the waterway, and that China was controlling the canal. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, Panama Canal Authority CEO Ricaurte Vásquez Morales called Trump’s claims about China “unfounded” and said that both nations had to follow the same rules. “We cannot discriminate for the Chinese, or the Americans, or anyone else,” Vásquez Morales told the Journal. “This will violate the neutrality treaty, international law and it will lead to chaos.” Vásquez Morales also said that he was unclear where Trump was getting the claim that Panama requested $3 billion for repairs to the canal—as the Canal Authority funds its own repairs. The CEO is only the latest Panamanian official to push back against Trump’s demands. Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino previously rejected any notion that the US could take the canal back after Trump’s initial remarks in December, insisting that “every square meter of the Panama Canal and its adjoining zone is Panama’s and will remain so.” Panama’s foreign minister, Javier Martinez-Acha, repeated the nation’s stance on Tuesday, telling The New York Times “let it be clear: The canal belongs to the Panamanians and it will continue to be that way.”

Jessica Alba is reportedly heading for divorce from Cash Warren, her husband of 16 years. TMZ reports that sources with direct knowledge of the relationship said that Alba, 43, and Warren, 45, recently separated. It is unclear why the Hollywood couple has decided to end their marriage, however both have been spotted recently without their wedding rings. The duo spent Thanksgiving together with their children in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Last week, she and Warren also celebrated their youngest child’s New Year’s Eve birthday together at Universal Studios. The pair first met when Alba starred in the Fantastic Four in 2004, a movie in which Warren worked as a director’s assistant. They got engaged in 2007, and married the following year. Together, they have three children, Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7. Besides acting, Alba launched The Honest Company in 2012, which soon became a $1 billion company and put her on Forbes’ list of “Richest Self-Made Women in the U.S.” in 2016. She stepped down as chief creative officer in April 2024 but remains on the board. Neither Alba nor Warren have responded to TMZ’s claim. The Daily Beast has reached out for comment.
