He’s been sitting on the fence for months, if not years, but Britain’s top tennis player now says he supports independence for Scotland. Andy Murray sent a tweet out to his 2.7 million followers that could well sway some undecided voters as Scots go to the polls today to decide whether to quit the United Kingdom after 300 years. Murray, who has won both the Wimbledon and U.S. Open tennis majors but has been struggling this year, attributed his decision to “no negativity,” which “totally swayed my view on it.” He added, “lets [sic] do this!” It’s not clear what, if anything, his stance will do to his relationship with longtime girlfriend Kim Sears... who is English.
