
In the midst of financial turmoil, the renowned celebrity photographer needed a way to refuel. Her solution: a bucket list of influential people and places to visit and photograph. The new series, ‘Pilgrimage,’ goes on display Friday at the New-York Historical Society. Annie Leibovitz talks to The Daily Beast about the places she went and how her late companion Susan Sontag inspired the journey.
