Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez isnât backing down as President Donald Trumpâs âborder czarâ Tom Homan keeps threatening to have the Department of Justice investigate her.
During not one but two Fox News appearances on Monday, Homan said the deputy attorney general was âlooking intoâ whether the Democratic lawmaker had âcrossed a lineâ and was âaiding and abettingâ criminal activity.
Since last week, Homan has repeatedly called for the DOJ to come after Ocasio-Cortez for sharing information with her constituents about the Constitutionâs Fourth Amendment prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures.
âGo ahead. Let the people see you for what you are,â Ocasio-Cortez wrote on the social media platform Bluesky in response to his latest attacks.

The courts have held that all law enforcementâincluding ICE officersâcan only enter private property and employee-only business areas with permission or with a valid search warrant signed by a judge. They must also have probable cause to arrest, according to the ACLU.
ICEâs own website says everyone is entitled to due process, and that it focuses on removing criminals and public safety threats.
Last week, the Ocasio-Cortez held a webinar explaining the rules. She then posted a bilingual guide on social media with advice for how to handle an encounter with ICE.
During yet another Fox News appearance, Homan warned on Thursday that she could be in âtroubleâ for educating her constituents on their rights.
âMaybe he can learn to read,â Ocasio-Cortez shot back the next day. âThe Constitution would be a good place to start.â
Speaking to Sean Hannity on Monday, Homan said the whole âconstitutional rightsâ argument was just pretext.
âYeah, you can call it that. But we all know what sheâs up to,â he said. âShe wants to tell these people how to evade arrest, how to evade ICE.â
He then accused her of helping keep convicted child sex predators and rapists on the streets of her district. Convicted rapists, of course, are the subject of valid arrest warrants and would be taken into custody either way.
Regardless, Homan has asked the DOJ whether he can âtake actionâ against people like Ocasio-Cortez, he told Hannity.
âWeâre looking for that clear direction so we can start taking action on people who want to help educate these people to evade ICE,â he said.
He was also apparently still smarting from her previous comment that he should learn to read.
âSheâs the dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress,â he ranted in an interview with Newsmax on Monday. âShe proves that every day.â
âThatâs why you fight these cowards,â Ocasio-Cortez responded on X. âThe moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing⌠He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. Heâs got nothing else.â
