With Donald Trump as president-elect and no longer hosting Celebrity Apprentice, the world will never hear “You’re fired!” on the NBC reality-TV show again. Instead, as debuted Monday evening on The New Celebrity Apprentice, new host Arnold Schwarzenegger’s verbose and self-referential catchphrase, “You’re terminated. Now get to the chopper!” will enter the lexicon of American reality-TV viewership. The former actor-turned-governor of California used a combination of references from his action-movie roles in Predator and the Terminator series to fire the first losing contestant of the season, actress Carrie Keagan. Trump left the show in 2015 as he explored a possible presidential run. Later, following racist anti-Mexican remarks during his announcement speech, NBC officially cut ties with him. However, the show’s production company rebranded the program, found a new celebrity host, and continued its relationship with the network—all while Trump remained executive producer.
