Far-right demonstrators clashed with anti-fascist counter-protesters during a rally put on by the far-right groups Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer. There were several arrests and injuries, but exact numbers are unclear, the Associated Press reports. Eder Campuzano, A journalist from the Oregonian newspaper, was among the injured after a projectile hit him. Police tried to disperse the crowd of hundreds of people with “flash bang” and other devices. The counter-demonstrators held signs saying “Alt right scum not welcome in Portland” and chanted “Nazis go home.” Officers stood between the two sides to keep them separated, though some fights broke out. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which fights hate and extremism, has labeled the Proud Boys a hate group.
