Asked About Trump Attacking Ford, Lindsey Graham Attacks Bill Clinton

When asked about President Trump’s decision to attack Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford during a Tuesday rally in Mississippi, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) tried to dodge the question and instead attacked Bill Clinton and his former campaign strategist James Carville. “Everything [Trump] said was factual—he’s frustrated his nominee has been treated so badly,” Graham said while speaking at The Atlantic Festival. When the Atlantic’s editor in chief called Trump’s words “a personal, degrading attack on a private citizen,” Graham responded, “You know, here’s what’s personally degrading: ‘This is what you get when you go through a trailer park with a $100 bill.’ This is not the first time this has happened.” Graham’s remark, which drew audible gasps and boos from the audience, was a reference to an infamous statement once made by Carville, who attacked a Bill Clinton accuser with the words: “Drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you’ll find.”
